700r4 governer problem!!

I just rebuilt my 700r4 with the TCI master kit, I get it all back together and remembered i didnt install the governer yet. I go to put it in and it wont go back in the hole. It will go in only so far then seems to bind up. First i assumed that it was catching on the out put shaft gear but upon further investigation it dosent make it that far. It removed very easy before, and i cant seem to find any reason why it wont go back in. Its like the case shrank. I never really messed with that end, except to spray it down with some parts wash. I'm new to transmission rebuilding and dont look forward to ever doing it again . I would hate to tear the stupid thing down again just to change the case. Has anyone else had this problem and if so do you know any fixes for this. Please HELP!

Take a file and go easy over the governor lands to see if there is a high spot, and remove it. If you do not find a high spot, put your finger in the governor hole and see if there is anything in the way.
