700 r4 shift problem?
need help, i ran across a railroad track crossing and lost 2nd and 4gear in my 89 iroc z.
i have no engine hold back in 1st,or third gear selector. transmission is free wheeling at all times. thanks

Did you knock the pan off/hole and loose the fluid? - Bend/break shift linkage?
- Otherwise, the servos may have somehow dislodged, I've heard of the retaining clip or even the lip it sets in breaking. - Look in the pasenger's side near the front, just behind where the dipstick goes in the trans. Should be a large(approx 3") round cover.

i did not hurt the pan, it was a ruff crossing, it drop to 1st gear , after that i only have 1st,3rd,and reverse. it will shift to third when get to about 3500 rpm. what would i check for in the servo area? thanks

i finally got it back together. it was the 2-4 band. the pin slot was worn through,which was not letting the servo from shifting into 2nd and 4th.
