700R4 molex plug????

700R4 molex plug????

Can anyone help me out. I have a 1985 camaro z28 we just removed all the tpI BS and am having the trans rebuilt. What is the molex plug going into the side of the trans for and will I need it anymore???

It's a Weatherpak, not a Molex. It carries the wiring to lock up the TCC, which you'll need to deal with yourself after getting rid of the computer.

Not to steal your thread but, can this case connector be removed without dropping the pan? How is it fastened to the case? Someone connected a wire to the case connecter without the pigtail, then filled the connector with silicone.

You'll have to drop the pan. You might be able to get the connector out, but it'll still have wires connected inside the pan.

I wouldn't think so. IIRC, the connector is installed from the bottom anyway, not the top.
