What all is involved in putting in a B&M short throw shifter for a T5?

From pictures it seems like just a 4 bolt deal - take the old out and put new in. Is this all there is to it? Or is there more?

Also, if you've used one before - how did you like it over stock?

 

In order to reach all the bolts from the top, to include the ones on the boot, you may need to remove/shift the center console. Replacing my OE shifter is one of the nicest mods I've done to my IROC. No more slop.

Completely move the center console? I can get to the main rubber boot by just removing the plastic frame on top of the center console.

Is that not enough?

 

IIRC, some of the bolts can't be reached without removal or shifting of the console.

BazookaJoe, find the shifter you want on the Summit web site and there will probably be install instructions you can click on at the bottom of the page. I just looked and there are some, don`t know if they are what you are looking for.

BazookaJoe, if Summit does not have the install instructions for the model B&M shifter you want, try out B&M`s web site. Many manufacturers have install instructions for their most popular products on their web page if you look hard, they are easy to miss. There`s also Hurst and TCI.
