Do I have a Problem with my T5
I am just about wrapping up everything on my auto to manual swap, so I am sorry for some of the lame questions I have been asking. I just want to be sure everything is ok before I try to drive this thing.
When I sit in my car and shift through the gears with the car off I am having trouble getting it into each gear. For some reason it easily goes into 2nd and reserve but with the others gears I really have to force it in. Am I worrying about nothing or maybe I didnt line up the trans right when I installed it?
Thanks Guys

Sitting there without it running and forcing it into gear is not good for it. Take it out and drive it, it will prolly shift alot better when you actually have **** turning in there and lining up.

If you didnt install the throw out bearing correctly it will act like that. Search on this forum for posts by sofakingdom, he post the right and wrong pics to help you out.

Thanks guys. I think I am going to go ahead and get it running to see if maybe I am just being paranoid. If it ends up being that the throwout bearing is wrong I will just have to pull it soon.

My car does that too. It has something to do with where the car is sitting. Like if it wont go in first, and I parked on a hill, if I roll a few inches it will go right in.
Also, remember when you want to back up - 1st then Reverse, or it grinds!

Interesting! I hope that is normal, because to me it seems like I either didnt install the throwout bearing right or that the splines on the bearing and the trans arent lined up. Thanks for the input.
