My dad picked up an old 69 camaro that he is restoring to stock. The car had been used for drag racing before and has a GM-12 rear end and a GM-57 and tranny. Now the tranny in my 87 iroc is about to go and the rear end has a nasty leak.

So I guess my questions are:

Can I do this swap?
Will it improve performance?
Is it worth it?

 

The rearend will not fit.

 

And I am assuming that the tranny will not bolt on to my existing rear end?

 

No, but no tranny will.
