9 bolt brakes on a 10 bolt

I fried a 9 bolt from a 86 trans am and I was wondering if I could put the brakes on a 10 bolt I have lying around

I'm almost certain you can't. The bolt pattern on the backing plates is really close, but not exact.

The swap is possible with 10-bolt backing plates. phillip is correct, the bolt pattern is different. Might be a good time to consider PBR's (or another big brake option):
