Re: hurst shifter
The shifter has nothing to do with chirping the tires. All it does, is put the trans in Park or Drive or Reverse or whatever.

Maybe take out the shift kit if you dont like the tires chirping and you can still keep whatever shifter you want.

Follow the instructions for "show-off" (i.e. low-power street car, not racing or anything, just makes the tires chirp so that it pretends like it has power)

Re: hurst shifter
They only make your car quicker to the extent that they help get the transmission into the best gear quicker.
Their main benefit, besides that, is that they usually reduce wear in the transmission, by reducing the length of time that the shifts take. An auto trans essentially is not wearing out at all while it's IN gear; it wears while it's SHIFTING, because at those times, the clutches are slipping as they apply and release. Obviously if the trans shifts TOO fast, the "slamming" effect could break stuff; but that's pretty rare and only happens in extreme cases.
They do not add power, reduce losses, or anything like that. So in that sense, they do not make the car "quicker".
