olds 403 12.5 in 1/4 92 camaro need little help

ok got a new toy, 92 camaro with an olds 403 motor, bored .030, performer intake, stock heads, stock manifolds, holey 750, built 350 turbo trans, 3:73 true posi rear. it ran 12.5 in the quarter and smoked a new cobra in the process i have headers and the rpm intake i'm going to put on in the next couple of weeks. thats the run down on what the car has, my question is with this trans and the rear its no fun for street driving. does anyone know what trans i can bolt to this 403 that would have an overdrive or something that would be more streetable? thanks for any input.

200-4R; or a 700-R4 with an adapter plate.

All the usual suspects... Summit, Jeg's, your local speed shop, etc.

Putting a Chevrolet transmission (Powerglide specifically, but it's the exact same fitment) behind ANY kind of motor, is THE SINGLE MOST COMMON swap of that sort. There are a half-dozen mfrs of that motor plate that I can think of off the top of my head. You won't have any trouble finding one, believe that.
finding parts or just about anything for this motor i'm learning is hard
And not likely to get easier as time goes on.... Just one more of the many reasons why swapping those old "foreign" motors, no matter how "good" one might think they are, into these cars, is not always as wise as some might tell everyone who doesn't have experience with it.

Well, you know how I feel about it, right!

Nice job!

You want to run an adapter for the 700R4, then you can use a stock torque arm and crossmember. If you already have an aftermarket torque arm (I don't know since you have a TH350) then I actually prefer the 2004R because of the 2.76 first gear, compared to the 3.08 for the 700R4. If you use an adapter, then get a good one from either trans dapt or advance adapters. It will come with a 3/8" thick adapter plate, spacers for the torque converter bolts, and a nice nose bushing for the torque converter to fit against the crank end. The cheaper adapters don't have those and YOU WANT THE TORQUE CONVERTER NOSE BUSHING.

Where are the pictures of the engine? You should post pictures in the engine swap forum so that I can add them to my archive.

Again, good job!

You want to search pro built automatics on this site or this guy on the east coast:
http://www.ckperformance.com/

Either way, nice job, again!
