TransGo performance Shift kit
i have been hearing that this is the best way to go if you want to get a little extra performance out of your 700r4
but i have some questions what does it actually do
and how much better is it over stock

Re: TransGo performance Shift kit
"IF" the transmission is in good shape, then the "modified" TransGo Performance Shift kit with the larger boost valves and Corvette servo, can make a difference in the way it shifts at WOT. It offers quicker downshifts, firm WOT upshifts, and retain smooth part throttle upshifts.

Re: TransGo performance Shift kit
Get his shift kit. ^^^
You'll find nothing but praise for the PBA modified TransGo kit. I run it myself. It's the best of both worlds. Firm but not harsh when you're heavy on the gas. Smooth and darn near stock at light throttle around the city. Slightly quicker shift but nothing crazy. It's a shift kit you won't get tired of (no bang shifts, clunking etc). But you can chirp the tires between shifts if you want (and I had brand new tires at the time it went in)
Dana's directions are something else. I mean he's re-written just about every step of the way of the stock TransGo instructions. Things circled, things crossed out, do this, don't do that. This goes here....
To give you an example, there's a piece in the instructions that TransGo says drill 73-85 for firm shifts. 86-95 for firmer shifts and 96 to 105 for firmest shifts. Dana says do the 73-85. And only use the 86-95 if you have an aftermarket large stall torque converter.
Most people who just get the stock instructions would probably choose 86-95 on their stock converter car. I asked my transmission guy about it and he said firm and firmer are more like brutal and insane. And that the 73-85 was good advice. We went with an 82 on my transmission. Both of us really liked the results when the whole thing was finished and going for a test drive.

Re: TransGo performance Shift kit
If you hold it in 1st gear it will not come out and will stay to any rpm you want till you move the lever. It will also backshift to any gear at any speed. But if you leave it in OD, it will go through the gears like normal.
