Locker swap into 3.75 worth it?
I was thinking about getting a 3:42 locker locker for my 7.5 10 bolt. Would you guys recommend not spending my money on this and just wait till i get enough for a 9 inch or 12 bolt? The price was only $280 for a new locker diff, ring, pinion, and a set of used 28 spline axles. Would anybody recommend having a professional put it in or just give it a shot and read books?
Thanks
Thanks

$280 plus a rear end girdle, gear setup, etc only to have it break again in short order. I would not put a dime into one.

oh ok. Mine isn't broken just figured it would give me better traction and a better head start off the line. I am not changing my 305 for years so i figured it would be fine. If you say so then ok. Thanks

I think he included the gears for that price, and he could install it himself possibly. His engine is a tuned up 305 you really think he could break that?
Why dies he need a girdle? unless he is racing.
