i have an 84 ta and need to build a trans.i have three trans to build one good one with .all of these trans worked fine with a b&m shift kit installed,until i used nos.all of the trans started sliping on the shift to second and fried the band.just want to know if 89 s15 trans has the up dated parts to build a better trans.i have bought a 2800 stall convertor, a racing master kit .i need to start the build soon .my engine up grades are to be wild this year and need to make a strong trans .sick of re&re on trans.

 

Honestly I would get an upgrade kit from Dana at Probuilt if you are planning to do quite a bit of power mods to the engine. I got the highest level kit from Dana and did the install with a friend who has rebuilt some 700s before and I am MORE than happy with the results. It didn't run me too much, considering the abuse I was going to put it through IMO. The install went smoothly and it has held up VERY well. There is quite a bit more potential for me before I hurt the trans again...

 

i have rebuilt a few of my own trannies .i have so many projects that it would be nice to build this trans as cheap a poss.
