small shifting issue ?

Engine: 350 tpi
Transmission: auto
Axle/Gears: 3.43
small shifting issue ?
my 88 iroc 700r seems to of developed a new way of shifting.
when i am driving slow (city/traffic) and the car shifts into 3rd gear the RPMs drop way down immediately afterward . almost like it is going into OD , but i know it is not (even happens in drive) .
i do not have this problem at moderate or heavy acceleration .
any
would be a big help .
