It's called a transmission mount according to any parts store.

summit racing sells one made by energy suspension that is polyurethane.
And it should never break again. The cheap rubber replacements from auto stores go out way to quick.

is this the part they keep showing you?
If that is not it, perhaps it is the torque arm bushing you need?

Torque arm bushing

Their are two part numbers depending on the year.

I am really familiar with these portions of the thirdgens and it sounds like you do need that transmission mount, and perhaps what you are seeing is utterly destroyed and doesnt look anything like it used to.
----------
Is this what you are looking at? this is a stock mount broken in two.

Re: need help! can't find the rubber replacement bushing for my trans crossmember
i bought and install the poly trans mount , have the torque arm bushing. my trans mount doesn't connect directly to the crossmember, there's another bracket on top of the crossmember that sits on rubber bushings, probably because the iroc z's were made sitting lower to the ground . almost seems like rubber spacers

Re: need help! can't find the rubber replacement bushing for my trans crossmember
I have never heard anything of this before, COuld you by chance believe this was done by someone else for other reasons? I own an Iroc, I have owned an RS and a Base coupe as well, I have worked on many friends cars underneath and Never seen this. Perhaps someone did it to help drivetrain geometry? Does it look like you could just ditch those rubber mounts/spacers, and run just the mount, as intended?
Re: need help! can't find the rubber replacement bushing for my trans crossmember
can't. let me take a picture of it. there's a big molded hole there.it can't bolt directly to the crossmember. if u take yours where it bolts up, cut out about a fou=ot of that , raise it and connect it to the crossmember via bushings, that what i have.the crossmember is one piece, with a second piece rasied with bushing and on that braket it has the hole for the trans mount.

Seconary cross member. Check the following link for a pic and info:
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/hist...ss-member.html
I used poly for a while. However, I also purchased the rubber version from my GM dealer:
Insulator 547702 (2)
Cush 547704 (2)
The above numbers are still good at GMPartsDirect.

Well I stand corrected and sorry for wasting your time, doubting you.
I had an 84 sport coupe, M5, and no secondary cross member on it either.
Well, Glad you have your answers now!

My '84 Z28 with 700r4 has what your talking about. I haven't found those in the auto parts stores around Houston either. Unfourtunatly it's something you will probably have to order. I got mine from scogin dickies, or sdpc, and it didn't take to long. You will need all 4 parts, 2 cushions and 2 isolators. Mine came packed isolators in one vac pac, cushions in another vac pac.

Re: need help! can't find the rubber replacement bushing for my trans crossmember
Have you removed the old donuts yet? I suggest you do before you bother getting replacements. I found a lot of rust that fell out when I took mine apart.
It hides between the two donuts on the metal crossbrace on each side (you need 4 rubber donuts). My brace was so thinned out in that area, I went to a boneyard and got one without the secondary mount like the pic above. Just my experience with them.

Re: need help! can't find the rubber replacement bushing for my trans crossmember
Right; I have / had that too (83 L69 car); but I have a T-56 now.
Incidentally, I slotted mine for the 2-bolt-up mount, in addition to the one-stud-down kind as these cars came with, back before there were poly mounts; some of the old 60s cars had an interlocking mount in that footprint, so that's what I first changed to, to fix the weenie POS that breaks all the time.

Re: need help! can't find the rubber replacement bushing for my trans crossmember
one thing you can do that works good is swap to the regular type crossmember so that you can run the more common mount. my current RS had the set-up that you do and i swapped the one in from my totaled iroc. this way you can use the poly mount that traviz showed you and don't have to worry about it breaking gain
