Re: will i lose all traction
3.73's with a 350 tpi will cut the tires loose pretty easlily. Even when I had my 350tpi, 700r4, 2.77 it would still cut them loose easily, just all that low end torque.
You'll probably be slower in the quarter mile though since you'll spin at the line hard plus you'll burn through your power band like there isn't one.

Re: will i lose all traction
Well gee i have a 3.73 sitting in my garage waiting for me to install it. If I have a slightly modded 350 what kinds of things can/should I do to avoid burning through my power band so quickly?

Put a posi in it, itll be more fun and you might actually get moving too.
Around 100 bucks on ebay. I also have one I'm not going to use. Hey 4.10 gears too!

shorter runner intake. Or open up the runners on the tpi, siamising, port matching.

Re: will i lose all traction
you wont lose ALL traction.. you should regain it at about 40mph..
to stay in the powerband longer, basically heres what you can do..
dont swap gears
and pretty much any performance modification

Yea, I don't think I would swap the gears if I were you. Not until your ready to change your intake manifold, cam, and a stall. If you have 3.42s that is.

Our cars never have had traction...
I have 2.73 in my '86 and 3.23 in my '89. My '89 has more traction IMO
