I have a 88 camaro with a 83 305/700r4. The engine has less than 1000 miles on it while the 700R4 has over 80000 miles. I am having trouble with the engine heating up only when I get on the gas or climbing any hills big or small. I have noticed the tranny slipping badly in first and into second. A friend of mind told me the tranny was causing the car to heat up? I found a turbo 350 for 75$ from another friend of mind. It only has 35000 miles on it. I would like to swap if I knew for sure if it was the problem. Is it hard to make the change from the 700R4? Thanks

 

I haven't done a 700 to 350 swap. But what I have heard you will need, a new driveshaft, or possably a long tailshaft TH350, will work with your current DS. Besides that the 350 will bolt right up to the block no ?. Shifter cable I don't know if it will work or not.
