stupid newbie question on posi

hi all i just put in a 9bolt posi in. Everything seemed fine and normal driving around. but i stabbed the gas a little bit coming out of the gas station, and all of a sudden i was damn near backwards. i heard posi's can be a liitle hard to get used to. but is this normal? or is something wrong withthe rear end.

Re: stupid newbie question on posi

yea i got an 87 iroc with posi n when ever i go around a corner to quick n hit the gas the rear end def likes to fishtail. Just keep in mind if u are ever fishtailing and u need it to stop quick take ur foot off the gas. Lol when ever i do that the car straightens right up, actually feels like i just got hit in the side too.

Re: stupid newbie question on posi

I don't think these cars are hard to fish tail, I was makin a left turn from a stop sign and i don't have posi and it fish tailed, and i barely stepped on the gas, the road was wet though.

Re: stupid newbie question on posi

thanks guys. it def takes some getting used to. i think i might need some better tires tho. if i try to stand on the gas from a start, both tires will just light up and start kicking out to the side.
