was driving home today worked fine. just crusin at 55 in OD. droped to a lower speed and the couldnt speed back up, would just rev and go nowhere and then it felt like it jumped a little when i got way up in the rpm. came to a stop, 1st worked fine, 2nd worked fine, and 3rd did nothing.

is my tranny shot? or my Tq converter, or maybe just low fluid? Im not real familar with auto trannys.

could this be my excuse for a t-5 of t-56 swap>?

the car is my 1992 Z28 convertible, 49k miles. stored for many many years and then started drivin it 9 months ago. this is the 1st time its happened.

 

That's the excuse for the T56 right there.

Sounds like the 3-4 clutches. Same thing happened to me. I don't know autos too well, so I can't tell you wether or not it could possibly be something else, but on mine, that's what it was.

 

You have lost the 3-4 clutch pack. This is very common. With that low of miles you could update the 3-4 clutch pack, and add a Corvette servo to help the 3-4 clutches live longer. This depends on the condition of the rest of the transmission. But if the fluid has been in good shape, then I suspect you could do this. And while you are in there, (if money permits) you could do other upgrades.
