Question About Trans-Go Shift Kit...
I have a 700R4 and I want install a shift kit, I was told that both B&M kits are junk, I am wondering if anyone has used the Trans-Go kit, and what kind of results they got? I am planning on installing one in both my 2.8 Sport Coupe, and my 5.0 IROC. Thanks.

Check out the modified kits from Pro Built Automatics:

I got the "heavy duty" shift kit for mine with Corvette servo, and I absolutely love it! It shifts nice and smooth when commuting, but it really packs a punch when you get on the gas. I can bark 2nd AND 3rd gear now at WOT.
Don't know how much it might do for your 2.8 though.

Re: Question About Trans-Go Shift Kit...
I put the B&M Transpack shift kit in my 88' trans am and i also have a corvette servo, and it chirps 2nd and works great. I wouldnt consider B&M kits junk since pretty much everyone i know had one in their car/truck and have never had a problem.

Re: Question About Trans-Go Shift Kit...
Go to: https://www.700r4l60e.com/store/prod...&cat=65&page=1 This will give you everything needed to do this right. B&M valve body kits have been used from the beginning of the introduction of the 700R4, and have been very hard on these transmissions in general. I have torn down many hundreds of these units over the years, and have found that the B&M kits destroyed these transmissions in almost all cases that they were installed in. If they are doing better, "great", and it is about time. But history is on the side of Transgo, they have done well, and I have improved on them immensely, as many have used these "modified" Shift kits with much success.

Dana,
What's the big difference between your "heavy duty" shift kit and your "street/strip" kit?

Re: Question About Trans-Go Shift Kit...
The Street/Strip allows you to hold manual low to any rpm without it going into second on its own, a cleaner 3-2 downshift, and firmer WOT upshifts.

Re: Question About Trans-Go Shift Kit...
I'd definitely recommend Pro Built Automatic's shift kits. I have his street/strip kit in my car and absolutely love it. Smooth enough for a daily driver, yet lots of fun when you want to get on it.
