Identifying a 700

I was given a 700R4 by my brother. I don't know what he got it from. I'd like to identify it to make sure it's one I can use and how it all needs to hook up.
The rectangular pan tells me it's a 700.
It has a 4 pin square connector towards the top left rear pointing straight up.
There is a small yellow tube coming out of the top of the case just behind the front pump area. I'm guessing it's a vent.
The cooler lines are higher on the case and a little back from where they are on a Th350.
There is a piston/cylinder on the right side of the cse just behind the fill tube hole.
I know there were #'s on the TH350's that could tell you what was originally installed in. Is there something similar on the 700's?
There is a large hole where the pickup for the speedometer. Are there different pickups for this trans and should it be a cable or electronic?
Lastly, how much torque are these trans rated for?
Thanks for any help you can offer,
Matt Brown
