If you call or email Dana at ProBuilt, I'm sure he will dial in just what you need. I've had shiftkits from B&M and Superior in my car. Dana's modified TransGo shift kit is by far the best, smooth part throttle shifts and quick, clean and FIRM shifts at heavy or full throttle.

I wouldn't do it myself. But I've never taken a transmission apart before. I think I payed 3 hours labour to get a transmission shop to install it. There are A LOT of custom instructions with the Pro Built shift kits.

Re: Whitch shiftkit should i get?
Has any one ever done a b&m shiftkit in a 305 tbi setup? is it even worth it. i used to own a 2001 neon w/ a glasspack and a full length intake and short shift and i used to beat my buddys camaro 6cy. i think my my fire bird is a bit quiker but i also think a shift kit is an inexpensive thing to do. i also plan on a B&M mega shifter. pros cons ??????????????

A majority of peeps here will pass on the B&M shift kit, and tell you to go with the custom Transgo shift kit from Dana and Probuilt Automatics. It's just a much better kit.

Re: Whitch shiftkit should i get?
thanks for the quik responsedoes it install any differently than the b&m kit, does it truley need "customization" or is it like the other. i had planed on driveing to an autoparts store locally and buying the b&m kit cuz it is easier for me than ordering online. i guess my main concern is will it hurt the stock tranny or drive train without other mods, i also have the same question about the mega shifter. thanks again.

Re: Whitch shiftkit should i get?
The Probuilt/Transgo kit is just perfect, the kit is custom, not "customization" needed on the tranny. It is rumored that the B&M kit can and will harm your tranny, whereas the Transgo kit is actually beneficial for your tranny
How is it easier to drive to a store to buy it, when ordering online they deliver it right to you??????
If your car is a daily driver, I have heard that the mega shifter is a bad idea. Something about it being a bad shifter for a daily driver, but great if your car is mainly for the track.
I have a B&M kit that I bought but never installed, it's yours for $25 if you want it. I bought it, then did the research, and ended up buying the Probuilt/Transgo kit. I extremely recommend get the same kit as well.

thanks for the info! it is a daily diver but, iv allways driven standerd and i wouldnt mind the manual shifts. i always wanted one before but never had an automatic before now. and i think it would be cool. i might not go with a b&m shift kit though. also i dont have a credit cad thats why its easyer to buy locally. i know alot of stuff is cheaper online but is hard to get some one to buy stuff online with me. im definitly going to do it to get my car audio though.
