this is something i need to know so i can put different gears in something like 3.73.. i had those in a different car and loved them for both street and strip.

At what speed and type of transmission?

If it is at 60 mph and an automatic, it sounds like 3.27s (assuming you have the 9 bolt).

Well, you left out a few specs. but heres what i think.
700R4 third gear = 1to1
Tires dia. = 26" (guess)
Eng. rpm = 3100
Gear Ratio = 3.73

MPH = 64

At 60 MPH, I am doing about 3,000 rpm with my 4L60, 255/50/16s (25.5" tall) and 3.23s. But that is using the tach which has is not exactly accurate.

With my Diacom, the engine rpm is 1,850 @ 60 mph in 4th. With 3.73s it calculates to approximately 2,125-2,150 rpm in 4th @ 60 mph.

sorry yes it is a 700r4 10 bolt rear end,
when i got the car it had yellow writing on it that said 84 i am assuming this is a junk yard rear end.. it also has the tag to put the special lubricant in it.. and as i said i was in 3rd gear and set the cruise at 70 mph and the take read 3100 rpm.. it just dont seem like i have 3.73 ratio because 1st drops so quick when u put it in gear.. anyways any more ideas since i added what i left out???

You want 3.23 and higher. 3.08 is the lower gear.

Just to clarify, are you asking which set of gears to get based on your carrier? If so, then yes, you need a 3 series.
