9-bolt BW rear wheel bearing,,,need help on replacing ASAP!!! SOMEONE HELP!

Hi i have a borg warner 9 bolt rear,,,i have just discovered i have a bad wheel bearing. Does ANYONE know how to replace one of these. Is it similar to a ford rear where the bearing is pressed on the axle and does it require takin the cover off?...I am planning a trip on sat. and dont trust this,,,ANYONE please help ASAP!!!,,,,thanx

You do not have to pull the cover off. The rear brake has to be removed and the four bolts that hold the bearing in th housing have to come off. Once the bolts are off tap on the axle and it should pull out. The bearing will have to be pressed off the axle.

i just pulled mine apart for the rebuild that everyone says can't be done....they're a cake walk!!

Hey Quartermileguy - i live in Griswold....have any parts yuo want to swap?

Actually, the bearing will have to be cut off the axle. The new bearing and seal will have to be pressed on. Make sure you get the correct seal. There is a specific right side seal, and left side seal.

I highly recommend you find a shop qualified to do it right, or you will be doing it again.

if that '84 has a manual console I'll be happy to take it off your hands,you could have my auto once I do the swap.
