what size tailshaft do i need

Engine: LT1/350 TPI
Transmission: T56/TH350
what size tailshaft do i need

ok. im getting a TH350 to replace my blown-up TH200C. im getting one from www.transmissioncenter.net and they sell a 6" and a 9" tail. which one do i need to keep my same driveshaft from my 200C

1982 Pontiac Trans Am
Cross-Fire Injected 5.7l V8
Eldebrock Headers, 3" Hooker Cat-Back, duel outlet with quad tips.
Mods: 1.6 Proform Roller Rockers, electric fan, Corvette 5.7L computer chip, K&Ns.
Audio: JVC Kameleon CD deck, Jenson 4x6 front, Eclipes 6x9 rear, 2 10" mTx T4000 powered by a mTx 200watt amp.
Black Powder Coated 1990 16x8 Formula Wheels with 245/50/ZR16 Perelli P7000.

Axle/Gears: 3.73
if i rememer correctly the 200c and the 350 turbo have the same length tailshaft. I am not positive though. Maybe someone else can verify. Kevin

you need the longer tail shaft and you'll need a b&m p/n 30299 to make the torque arm work with a TH350 in a thirdgen.

Nope ede. You need the common 6 inch tailshaft. The th200c and th350(6 inch tailshaft) are the same length.

Going from a 700r4 to a th350 requires the 9 inch(long) tailshaft to use the 700r4 driveshaft.

ok. now i am confused. what ill do is tell the people that im getting the tranny from( www.transmissioncenter.net ) that im replacing a TH200C with the TH350 in a 1982 T/A. they should know

Call them up, they will tell you it's the 6 inch tailshaft. I've done this swap before. Surely somebody else on the board will back me up on this.

yes. you are right 82camaro. i called them up and they said i need the 6" and i also ordered it so my car should be back on the road within 2-3 weeks(hopefully) thanks.
