Re: Diff Bearing Caps
you cant, they are unique to each rear, and to each side for that matter
Re: Diff Bearing Caps
Why do you need new caps for it? The caps are the same as the 8.5 caps, so you can use them. Try Tom's Differentials. You must have them machined to fit the housing. This can be expensive. If the caps are missing then I'd find another housing.

Re: Diff Bearing Caps
as mentioned above, it's like main bearing caps in an engine (actually very much like it...)
machined for that rear end.
Take some from a JY, but then bring it in to a engine/machine shop. They'll need to grind a few thou off the bottom, then re-hone to make it true and round again. I doubt anybody has a tool for this (unless they can use the same tool as for in an engine block, if the rod is long enough...)
Might be better off finding a new housing

Re: Diff Bearing Caps
Actually the new steel bearing caps can be fitted without boring the housing. The cap is made with extra material on the mating surfce. This surface is milled so that when it is bolted to the housing the hole will be round. Almost all of these caps are made for 1/2 inch bolts, which means that the bolt holes in the housing will have to be drilled and tapped for the larger bolts. I think there is one company that makes caps for 7/16 bolts, but I don't remember who it is.
JFYI, most of the time only the left bearing cap is replaced with a steel cap because it is the one that carries most of the load. That is why you won't find bearing caps sold in pairs.
