T-56 questions, I searched!
I might be purchasing a T-56 and Im trying to get a guesstimate of how much this swap is going to cost me.
I have a spohn th350- crossmember/torque arm so im going to make that work.
I have a older style block with a 2 piece RMS, what flywheel will i need?
What hydro's do I use? 4th gen or 3rd gen?
I have a cable speedo.....what do I have to do to get that to work with a electronic speedo?
What do I do with the skip shift on the t-56?
Those are the biggies now, any other surprises i should except when I get knee deep in the swap?

You must not have searched the correct terms. Read this sticky we now have. (thanks mods for making it a sticky) I think on the 4th page or so I posted my cost for the swap. https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tran...ap-thread.html I'd highly recommend doing a few upgrades to the trans before you install it. Most important ones are the solid 3/4 syncro keys, and the steel 3/4 shift fork. I also went with carbon fiber syncros, bronze pads for all 4 forks, and the longer RSG tail housing bushing. I couldn't be happier how my trans shifts now. Worth every penny I spent on it.
I've seen several people asking if they can convert to an electric speedo and haven't seen that anyone has been successful doing this and get it linked to work with the computer. To keep your mechanical speedometer there are two options. First is the Cable-X box for $310, or have the housing converted for a mechanical cable drive. I went the second way and developed the conversion and now offer this service for others. PM me if you have any questions.
You will be better off getting a new spohn cross member for your torque arm setup and trying to sell the one you have now. I had the same problem and bought a new cross member and sold my old one. You will have to do some major mods to make the old cross member work.
You will need a special flywheel for the two piece rms engine. (Centerforce makes one) Do a search, and keep a close eye on ebay and the classifieds here. They pop up every now and then.
Supposedly you can use 3d gen hydraulics, but the clutch hose isn't long enough to mount the slave cylinder pointing forward. I tried reusing my 3rd gen cylinders with the 4th gen braided hose, but the fittings were different. So I went with the 4th gen hydraulics. (This info is in the sticky I linked to)
For the skip shift you can just leave it on the trans, or pull it out and plug it. There is a dorman oil pan plug that's the right size and thread you can get for about $4. It's M22x1.5 thread.
