Installing trans-go shift kit in 700r4. How hard?
I am getting ready to put a trans-go kit in to my 92 firebird(700r4). For those who have done it, is it hard? What do I need to watch for? thanks!
I am installing one right now on my 91 RS. Yes it is very time consuming. It is only supposed to take a few hours, but due to some problems its taken me way longer...i started 3 days ago...but i will finish today
It is frustrating...everytime you think youre past the hard part and finally things are going to go smooth boom something else goes wrong. I would definitely reccomend a freind to help. Helped out a lot when we took down the pan and putting the servo on. Make sure to get some straight snap ring pliers. Be patient with that part. The snap ring valve, and the servo have been the two huge pains for me. I had everything all done yesterday ( i thought) untill i revved her up on the jackstnads and the servo snapring came flying off and i lost a quart of fluid. So now today im back down there to try to get it fixed. Just to warn you though, you will taste, smell, and be covered in tranny fluid. I will hopefully be done today, and let me tell you, i will be very happy when this is all done. Ill let ya know if its worth it, but from what i hear it is very worth the pain.

Ok well the transgo is now in. I have to say im really not impressed at all. I really really hope i didnt adjust the TV cable right and thats the problem...because if this is all i get for 4 days worth or work ill be pissed. The car does shift a little harder...but no tire chirping side moving fun shifts. Plus it wont shift into 3rd gear at WOT. God i really really hope my TV cable is not adjusted properly, and i really really hope after i adjust it again it shifts better then this.
