Well, with 3rd and 4th gens the rear is basically the same and the drive shaft's are the same so I think that the torque arms are the same too.

Do aftermarket torque arms still mount to the trans? I saw a pic of one on ebay once, and it looked like it came with another crossmember. I always thought they went to the trans, but I didn't know what that extra piece was. ??

"Be careful"???

What do you mean by that?

Also the torque arm goes from the rearend to the rear of the transmission.

I have an aftermarket torque I bought a few years back. It's a Granetelli unit that was designed for a 4thgen. I have it on my
87 TA. Mine doesn't mount on the tailshaft of the tranny. It came with a mounting pad that is bolted to the upper part of the driveshaft tunnel. This mounts the front of the torque arm to the driveshaft tunnel and is independent from the tranny's tailshaft.

There is two different types of stock TQ arms. It has to do with the end that bolts to the tranny. The mounts are different. I have two '88s and they are different so it's not a "year" thing. If the TQ arm comes with a different mount it won't matter anyway. Just figure i'd tell ya's something interesting.
