Transgo SK-700G

Im working on my valve body, putting in the sk700-G shift kit. When i got to step 7 which is putting the springs on the all the different valves, it gives you a choice between STD gas 2WD ---- Diesel camaro 4WD ---- or Vette.
I am just kind of confused why setting it up like a camaro would be the same as a diesel or 4wd? i would think it would be more like the 2wd or gas? Also it says beside the vette for what spring to use ( See update sheet) . I looked through my box and there was nothing that resembeled an update sheet? Any help would be apreciated. Thanks

Which springs are you referring to? Accumilator?

Re: Transgo SK-700G

What year are you working on? If it is a 1982-1987, then use the "green" spring on the 3-4 shift valve, not the orange. If you use the orange, the 3-4 part throttle shift will be very late. If it is a later unit use the white spring on the 3-4 shift valve. Dana

Thanks, ITs an early model trans so i will use the green. Is there any other tips that might be helpful that you have ran into?

Re: Transgo SK-700G

Mine was weird. I have a 86 car with a 91 trans. But looking at the ATSG manual, my valvebody has the extra bore for the non-ECM TCC circuit like a 82-87 has. So IDK what I shouldve used. I have the Superior kit also.
But nothing changed as far as the 3-4 circuit.
Just the TV down spring, TCC circuit spring, 2-3 spring, 3-2 spring, LineBias spring, TV Limited spring, added the TV helper spring, TV spring and new TV sleeve.
I did find out that the TV Up spring was missing from the last rebuild a shop did for me. Still confused about that one. I think it was a mistake they made on the bench while rebuilding it. Nevertheless they had a bunch of mishaps so it wasnt suprising to me.

Re: Transgo SK-700G

Yes, get the instructions for the TransGo Junior, and do the modifications to the steel cover and setup the 2nd gear servo as per the Junior instructions, it will work better. Everytrhing thing else is ok for the early setup. You mentioned it was from a 1991? What shift valves does your valve body have? the early? or late? What is the letter code on the separator plate? Let me know? Dana
