seems like you're not getting overdrive, and if you are, you're both not getting lockup of the torque converter, and you have a very loose torque converter. If you have the 3.27:1 axle, then you again aren't getting the lockup.

Are you sure the tach is correct. It's common for them to fail and when they do they read high. When you floor it what RPM does it shift at? If it's around 5000 - 5500 then the tach is probably working fine.
