Installation of a drain-plug kit.
I picked up a drain plug kit marketed by B&M.
Whether I change the fluid/filter now or in the spring, the following questions will weigh on my mind until then.
The kit comes with a plastic washer to seal against the pan. Does it sound like a decent idea to replace it with a copper sealing washer?
And, do you knowledgeable mechanics have a favorite place to locate the assembly, that is far away from any and all things inside?

A plastic washer will seal better than a copper washer.
Better than one of those kits is to tack a weld nut on the inside of the pan and use a drain plug.
