quotes the 1999 GM Performance Parts Catalog that says that the 4L60 deep transmission pan will work on a 700R4. I got the pan and filter. The pan looks like it will work, but the filter neck/seal is too large in diameter for the 700R4. Is there a filter that will work ???

I got the pan with part number (24215535) with a drain plug. I want to use the deep pan with plug on a 1988 Suburban 4x4 with 700R4 transmission.

Sure it won't fit? The old seal might be in there, and it is a VERY tight fit so it won't leak. Look in there to make sure. Maybe you have the wrong filter too?
