T-5 gets stuck in 4th gear

What would cause the transmission to not shift out of 4th gear? It's a 89 WC T-5 with 125k on it. I just changed the clutch and clutch slave/master assembly.

Thanks,
Mike89GTA

The dogs on the slider. Same thing happened to me. It needs a rebuild.

Am I looking at just new synchros or new gears, input shaft and stuff. Where is the best place to order new parts?

There's probably more but thats off the top of my head. If its just the dogs on the slider, thats all you need. Did it grind going into gear before?

Here's what happened. My slave cylinder took a dump and I got stranded on the side of the road. I was trying to force it into gear and lets just say I uh, wasn't very nice to it. 3rd gear was the only one that got the car to roll. Now 3rd gear feels different when I push it in, but it works ok and doesn't grind or anything. It just doesn't seem like the lever goes as far forward. Now 4th gear is different. It goes into 4th just fine, no grinding, but when I go to pull it out, 30% of the time it has to be yanked out, kind of like if you weren't using the clutch pedal.

So does that mean it's the slider?

Prepare to spend a few hundred dollars then. If it grinds going into gear then you will probably need a new gear, synchro, and slider.
