tell me all i need to know about 9 bolt rears

what all should i know....easy to get axles?.....i know gears are a pain....any other things i should know?

actually gears are not a pain
anything you want from 2.73 to 4.11 ...........just say the words ..axles i believe are available from moser !!!

I never heard of anything over 3.70 for a 9-bolt.

Yep. Neither did I until I made a trip down under. What ratio do you want? I can get you upto 4.11's.

really all you need to know about the 9 bolt is that it is better than the 10 bolt ...thats why GM had it as the heavy duty option

Kewl, I moved my 9 bolt from the firebird to the camaro because of poor gear choices and the posi dosn't lock anymore. I read the tech article but was wondering if they (and who?) still make replacement carriers and if they would put me in the poorhouse because of their 'rareity'

Also C-clips suck!

i have a 1986 ta ws6 4 wheel disc with 2;77 in it 9 bolt i want to change the gears to a 3;42 or so but i was told the only place that sells 9 bolt gears only has them up to3'73 and thats to high for me

if you no a place where they sell 342 or close around there.
