I just purchased a used Console Megashifter. I was wondering if anyone knew where to get an installation sheet online. I also would like to talk to someone who put one in a Firebird. I have trim piece mod issues.

I put one in a Firebird. What is your problem exactly?

Here is the problem. The trim panel for the console. The one with the ash tray, window switches, and mirror swich. I realy don't want to cut it and I won't be able to use the plate that came with the shifter if I don't. My question is can I get away with not using the plate some how. Also can I some how retain the lock out cable? I'd like this to look as professional as possible.

 

The installation looks -very- professional with the B&M shift plate installed. Mine fit exactly between the bottom of the ashtray latch and the top of the window switches-- oh, you have a power mirror? That might get in the way. Get a junkyard cover plate, and mess with that one.

As to the lock-out cable, I don't see how you could retain it. You'd have to do something strange... that cable prevents the shifter from moving when the car's off, and prevents the ignition switch from going into "lock" when the shifter's out of park/neutral.

You can get the instrustions by typing B&M into the search bar.when you get to their web site you can find your shifter and the instructions.I bought one new for my 90 GTA.
