diff swap/brake lines
diff swap/brake lines
I'm hoping someone can help me out with this. I have an 82 Z28 that has a 10bolt drum rear. I want to put on a disc rear then swap the gears. After reading so many different stories, I thought of a question. Since in 82 the threads on the brake lines are different than lets say 84-85 (metric) will I come into a problem in swapping a 90 rear? If I get the 90 rear do I need to go buy 82 calipers so the threads will match from the calipers to that "T" brake fitting that bolts to the rear? Also do I need to change my master/booster for adding disc?
Thanks.
Thanks.
if you have to you ought to be able to swap clyinders and that would fix you thread problem, if not you could buy a flare tool and make you own bastard line with differant fitting on each end, or have someone make it for you.

EDE, thanks bud for the advice, now how about the master/booster for the brakes? Does this need to be changed to or can I buy a proportioning valve from Summit or Jegs and use that instead? Or does this not have to be changed?
