Transmission: T56 Magnum by RPM Transmissions
Axle/Gears: Moser 9" w/4:56 Detroit Locker
Lenco ST1200
I am thinking about installing a Lenco ST1200 in my car and just wanted to see if any members here have installed one. I have some questions about floor board modifications, can they work with our hydraulic clutches, is their any chance of keeping your stock consol with modification.

Ha! Somehow I would really doubt that but you never know.
You need to understand that a Lenco transmission has no neutral. If the clutch isn't depressed the vehicle will move if the engine is running. This means if the driver needs to get out of the car, the engine has to be shut off.

Ah. I stand corrected. Near the bottom of the description list on the left it says Neutral Position although it doesn't explain how they do a neutral.

I was reading somewhere that neutral was created in the reverser, do you know of any other clutchless manual transmissions, I heard of Jerrico or Liberty

The Lenco is probably the best. It uses planetary gears like an automatic except there's no hydraulics shifting the gears. Some racing classes won't allow a planetary manual transmission.
Jerico is more like a factory style replacement

I realize that your car is not built to be an all-out racer of any sort, but I still would stay far far away from a lenco. They eat ridiculous amounts of HP, and require constant fluid changes to live, especially when used on the street. Jerico and Liberty's are nice, you really might consider a liberty or pro-motion modified/built TKO600 as well. The modded TKO's will handle some serious power w/o trading off too-many street comforts.

I realize that your car is not built to be an all-out racer of any sort, but I still would stay far far away from a lenco. They eat ridiculous amounts of HP, and require constant fluid changes to live, especially when used on the street. Jerico and Liberty's are nice, you really might consider a liberty or pro-motion modified/built TKO600 as well. The modded TKO's will handle some serious power w/o trading off too-many street comforts.

the lenco has three settings on the selector. forward neutral reverse. and all the planitary clutches in front of it. it is simply a selector for a sun gear that will spin the output forward, not at all or reverse

The "tactical nukes" version is dog ring/face tooth engaugement - yes, it'll shift clutchless. As with any other "clutchless" designed trans you'll have to double clutch to downshift though.
Then only thing I really like more about the liberty is that you can run a Long verti-gate shifter. Those things are just plain cool. Not downshift friendly at all though.

Yes, many do tear down their Liberty every pass. - The old doug nash 5 speed is basically the same thing as the richmond 5 speed, which they now offer with an OD.
500-700 miles on the lenco oil change? I've never heard of anyone going more than one evening. Not sure about the st1200, but the guy that ran a lenco on drag week changed the fluid every day. He said if you don't you'll eat it. - I've only had hands on experience with the CS2 and converter drive. We were able to detune almost 500 hp and still run just as fast when we went to the th400. Between the weight of it and the power that it ate it just wasn't justifiable on the "little" tires (10.5 outlaw).
