Anyone withT-5 Centerforce Dual Friction Combo

I bought the Lakewood clutch fork....doesn't fit. So I bought a GM stock replacement. I also bought the Mr. Gasket adjustable pivot ball..which doesn't fit my bellhousing(threads are different). So I bought the stock replacement. Do I need an adjustable pivot ball, or will all of the stock stuff(T-5 included) work with the Centerforce Dual Friction 26-spline clutch and pressure plate?

It may work fine but I would stay away from any kind of heavy duty clutch with a T-5 and a 350 engine, the T-5 is not strong enough to handle it. The stock clutch acts as a "weak link" in the drive train allowing a little slippage, and will let the T-5 survive longer.

I agree with Sunbound. I'm running a high performance clutch (not the force though) and having no problems.

I have 218 miles on a brand new Centerforce Dual Friction setup and the pressure plate has failed, and the result is blowing hydraulic slave cylinders apart! I am so frustrated. Top of the line high dollar parts should not do this. Unfortunately sometimes they do.

I've got a McLeod clutch with a 350 T5. No problems here.

I don't know about the other clutches to compare but I've got the centerforce dual-friction and I wouldn't change for anything. Any high dollar clutch will do you good.

Well to add to what I said before, the WC T-5 is a pretty strong trans. and will take a lot of abuse, but I had one in the 91 Camaro I had before and after I added a 350 it held up fine for a long time, but after I added a Centerforce Dual-Friction clutch it didn't take very long before it failed, and I mean it really failed, it broke the front of the case in half where the input shaft enters. I replaced it with a T-56 and it worked great, but then some idiot rear-ended me and totaled it.

I'm on the 2nd CF DF clutch behind my roller 400. I shouldn't have even replaced it, but I did just because I had the car apart. The old one is still good. Both of them have seemed to work just fine. I have a stock bell housing (either a 84 or a 91, I'm not sure which one is in it now), stock fork, stock pivot, stock hydraulics, etc. etc. It all just bolts right up. I've had about every brand of clutch you can think of, and some you probably can't, and never really had any trouble with any of them. I can recall Ram, BW, CF of course, McLeod, Hays... I liked some better than others but they all worked right.

I thought about getting a better clutch but, thought that if I get sticky tires that the t-5 might die.

I had the pressure plate fail on my centerforce clutch also. The t-5 I have in my car has been behind a strong tpi 305, I then had it rebuild and put it behind another 305, a 400hp plus 350 and the current 350 and it has given me no problems.

I'm currently running all stock components w/ a Centerforce Dual Friction clutch with a 355 and Tremec 5-speed. No problems & everything matched fine. Send the stuff back and spend the $ else where. :-)

Shortly after I installed my Zoom clutch (30%more holding power/kevlar material), my trans took a dump. I can tell you though, the Zoom clutch kicks a$$. Definitely go with it again. I've had people tell me it grabs more than centerforce II's they've installed in similar cars.
