B&M Deep Tranny Pan. Good idea??

Does anyone with a stock height thirdgen have the B&M deep pan installed on their tranny?? If so, what kind of clearance do you have and do you constantly have to avoid speed bumps?? I bought one but have not installed it yet. Guess I shouldve asked these questions earlier.

I orginally installed my Hughes unit with a deep pan. I drove it for a month like that and there was not enough clearance. It was actually lower than the lowest suspension part on the car. So instead of continually wondering if I was going to hit it, I traded it for a standard depth pan. Save yourself some time and go with a standard pan.

I put a Derale Pan on with the cooling tubes in it. It cut down clearance significantly and was the lowest part of the car. I was very careful with it and didn't have any problems. My wife however drives my car like she hates it and crushed it. I would go with a stock depth pan if I were you, I am (again!).

do you think that the stock deep pan from an s10 would work? then you would even have an easy to find filter #, If I remember they are only 1/4-1-2" deeper than stock 3rd gens

Is it worth the hassle for 1/4 to 1/2 inch?

It is all up to the user if it is worth it. It must help if gm decided to use it right? and it really is not that much of a hassle to get a pan and filter for a 98 s-10.
