overdrive @ WOT question.

My 700r4 won't shift into overdrive at WOT. I saw in the tech section why, but there was no info on how to change the "kit modified kickdown valve". Is it something that can be done with the tranny in the car? Other than taking them out and putting them back in, and changing fluid and filter. I know nothing else about transmissions. Any help?

Re: overdrive @ WOT question.

I went to transgo website. There was no provision for purchasing it from them. I couldn't find it at JEGGS or Summitt. Have you baught this part? Did it work well? Where did you get it? Thanks for the help so far. I'm getting frustrated with this stuff! LOL

Re: overdrive @ WOT question.

You can modify the TV plunger sleeve by blocking the two 4-3 downshift passages with Allen plugs. They cost about $0.17 each. You can do this without removing the valve body. There is someone on this board that has the printed instructions of mine up where you can see them. Do a search. I have never done the TransGo way of doing it. But I have been doing it this way for about 14 years now, and it works out well. Dana

Re: overdrive @ WOT question.

I was addressing 7-4-V THM 700, which is a TransGo part. The Bulk part you are refering to is what I posted to modify on his unit. This modification will save you about $45.00, and do the same thing as the Bulk part. I should have made myself clearer on this. Dana
