T5 to Gen III or IV motor?
Will the stock bellhousing bolt up to these motors? If so what flywheel setup would you use?
Thanks,
Larry.

Re: T5 to Gen III or IV motor?
Sorry but they wont. The Gen III and later sbc's moved the bellhousing mounting surface .500" forward while the crank flange remained in the same position. This means that the trans for these motors needed a .500" deeper bellhousing to provide converter clearance and earlier transmissions will either not fit or cause the converter tp bind destroying the pump instantly.
Anso since there was no room for the top passengerside bold because of the rear most cylinder they deleated that hole in the block ( the trans still has that hole ) and added a new hole at the 12:00 position of the block and trans.

I forgot you were talking about a manual somewhere during my response lol but most of that still applies. Instead of converter clearance the input shaft will hit the crank before the bellhousing touches.
