Shift gets sluggish when car is warm??

I have a 91 formula with the L98 and a shift kit in the trans. When the car is cool the trans shifts very strong and puts the car sideways all the time. As it warms up, the shift gets softer and softer. To the point where it will still shift quick but will not break the tires loose. Trans just feels much more sluggish. I have started to notice this as the temps here in NYC have gone into the 70's and 80's. Any ideas on how to remedy this? Also, does my car have a trans cooler from the factory? Thanks

most likely your ca rhas a trans cooler, look on the pass. side of the radiator and you should see 2 fuel line like lines running into the radiator, 1 on top = and 1 on bottom. how many miles are on the trnas? mine used to do the same thing to me, but it would still break em' loose after it warmed up, just not as wild.

Buy a trans cooler! The radiator can only cool so much. I have the B&M cooler. A step down from their racing cooler. It helped out alot! Its about $45. Heat kills your tranny!!

Transmissions tend to shift a little more harshly when the fluid is cold because it is a little thicker. As the fluid warms up it becomes thinner and the shifts soften a little. This is especially noticeable in the winter. I wouldn't worry about it.
