Corvette Servo

I've been hearing about putting a Corvette servo in the Camaro's 700r4, what is that all about?

The vette servo, is good for a couple of reasons: 1) As was said in the last post, it will give you a firmer, quicker shift, because it takes less fluid pressure to engage the servo which allows the band to "catch" the input drum and 2) it will prolong the life the band, (under normal driving conditions, ha....ha..!!).

Another thing I would suggest is to put stiffer springs in the 1-2 and 3-4 accumulator housings, this to will give you firm, solid shifts, which will increase the life of your tranny as well (Have this done when you get your tranny rebuilt). You could even use a short piece of metal tubing instead of springs to prevent the accumulator pistons from moving.

The servo and a .5 boost valve make an excellent shift kit.

Relax, if you have an IROC, then you should already have a Vette servo.

Mine did originally. The 1-2 accumulator and spring wasn't the same as the Vette part #'s though.

I went with a hi-stall converter like the way it performs since the overhaul.

Heres the GM part #s for you guys that may need them....

8634940 valve
8647351 seal
8639164 spring
8673039 housing
8642079 piston

Have fun
