Man,

You need an Rx for some ritalin or something. I don't have an answer for you, and it's probably not a common enough conversion to be able to get a response...especially within the timeframe that you apparently loose your cool

made you look!

I dont see why putting a 4-speed manual trans into a TPI is any different than TBI or carb. You get the trans, bellhousing, crossmember and driveshaft, and some way to hook up the clutch.

The 82-83 F-bodies have 4-speed manuals, you should look at one of them.

yeah i know there shouldnt be any problems, but i would like to know what are the differences that might occur intalling a 4 speed from a five speed, will it affect top speed, will i have to do any modifications to the underbody or anything else.

I am sure the drive shaft will need to be longer.

yes you will not be able to go as fast because of the car reving higher than with the OD.

I WOULD RATHER PUSH A CAMARO THAN DRIVE AN IMPORT

1983Z28 350w/ edelbrock performer RPM power package , dynomax shorty headers, 700R-4 with shift kit, 750cfm carb, edelbrock 3" exhaust system, ASCD SS hood, 16" IROC rims.

future mods:
completely done over suspension, black paint with flames, Hurst shifter, dakota digital gauge package, procharger supercharger.

Pay attention:

The four speed top gear is a 1:1 ratio, and the five speeds fourth gear ratio is the same. The fifth gear,(the overdrive) is .76 or whatever. So you would need to compensate with the rear gears. With the overdrive, the engine would work harder. You would need some serious horspower to push the overdrive to the rpm limit of the engine.
By the way, I was going to do the same, and dump the stock 200r, and back my 350 with a super T-10, so I bought one, then found out that it would be alot easier, and cheaper to drop a T-5 in. Basically, the clutch linkage was the problem.
