Tranny Mount problems continue

Im about to change it again. BUt i have a quick question. I bought a Energy Suspension Urethane mount and crossmember bushings. the other times ive changed the mount i have not taken the crossmember out at all. but it was a big ***********in pain in da *** to push and pull tranny back into position with new mount. Is it okay to take the x-member off to do this? or will this cause alignment issues with the transmission and drivetrain?.

i dont really know wat i wood have to do to correct it if i did end up taking it off and that infact happens.

So please let me know your thoughts and experiences.

Latas and thanks

You could take the x-member off, no probs...

Just remember to support the pan with a jack and a block of wood or you might smash your distributer cap off the firewall.

The x-member will only go on one way. There's a little room for slop, but not significant. With the E/S mount, some have said that it raises the tranny (and it does) so they've put bushings in the x-member to lower it some. I put one in mine, but the angle of the d/s appears to be fine...

I just put in the new mount and bushings... it looks great.. had one tiny problem with the bolt that goes thru the crossmember and into the mount .. the center bolt... it did not fit thru the x-member and i had to make it a bit larger.. but its a pretty damn good fit and i cant believe how much stiffer the shifts are compared to those old rubber mounts.. install was alot easier than the stock kind.

I hope everyone changes over to this someday

Thanks for the help
