9 bolt vs. 10 bolt - which is better for a performance rebuild?

I have a feeling this subject has been kicked around a bit, but I looked thru the archives and didn't come up with much.

I'm going to be hitting the scrapyards soon in search of a rear to build up. I'm leaning towards a ten bolt and I need you guys to let me know if I'm thinking in the right direction.

I know 9 bolts are stronger in stock form, but there are lots of parts available for 10 bolts. I'm thinking about a 28 spline 10 bolt with the following:

Zexel- Torsen HD diff.
welded axle tubes
rear end girdle
solid pinion bearing spacer
GM gears

I like the idea of a solid pinion spacer and aluminum girdle. I wish these parts were made for the 9 bolt, but they are not. Will the 10 bolt outlined above match or exceed the durability of a 9 bolt? I don't plan on running slicks or feeding it more than 400 hp.

That's why I pulled my 9 bolt and built up a 10 bolt with all those above mentioned parts. It's cheaper to build and performance parts are easier to find. Aftermarket 28 spline axles are better than factory 28 spline anyway.
