I finally gave up on my 86 700r4, an got a
88 700r4 for a hundred bucks. I put in a transgo kit and a 2000 stall converter. It was amazing at first, seeing as how the clutches were fried in my old tranny and I had no second gear. The tranny shifted hard, but almost a tad too early, but this was no problem since I prefer to ratchet shift with my megashifter. It has been great for the past couple of days, but just this night as I was shifting from 1st to 2nd at about 4000rpm, there was a loud CLUNK, and now I don't have a 2nd gear anymore, it just shifts from 1st to 3rd. Does anyone know what the heck happened or what is wrong? It can't be the clutches or band, can it? Did the governer gear bust or something?
Has this happened to anyone else?

i had a clunk when i broke my tranny mounts and it didnt want to shift into 2nd
