If it's taken care of: fluid changed, leaks fixed, never run it low, never overheated, and auto will last a long time. I've seen 200000 out of a 700r4 and still running strong.

------------------
350 with stealth intake, holley carb, 470 lift cam. 700r4 with .5 boost valve, vette servo, tci lock-up kit, B&M megashifter. Richmond 3.73 gears, powertrax locker, timkim bearings, synthetic lube. Custom 3 inch single into 2 2.5 pipes. 1 1/2 drop springs, 1 5/16 solid front sway bar, 1 inch rear bar, custom subframe connectors, custom LCA relocation brackets. Kobel ground FX, current red metallic paint. Lots of other stuff...

I have over 136K on my Camaro tranny and the only thing I have done is install a TransGo Shift Kit and V-8 Servo (NOT Vette).

probably going to be bad luck if I say this but I got 122,000 on my 700r4 and it is not a hand grenade yet even with the a built motor I bolted it up to 18,000 ago.

my 700R4 has seen 3 different motors, 150k on the first one, about 80k, on the second one, and about 9k on the current engine. its just now starting to have problems engaging into gear. i have to put it in 2nd to get it to go into forward gear when its cold. other then that it runs fine. and its seen alot of abuse.

My 700R4 has 130,000 miles on it and have not had any problems with it. My 350 TPI is putting nearly 300HP to the fly wheel. My car gets driven hard every day.

You will get a lot more life out of your trans with a trans cooler installed. This is one of the mods I plan on doing very soon.

I blow one up about every 20,000km. I have very bad luck with them. My first Z28 was owned by a lady and I bought it with a factory replacement in it. It had 266,000km on it and the motor has 350,000 and still going strong. I just can't get luck with them. Our work trucks eat them about every 100,000km but we have never done anything else to them other than tranny work.

this is great news guys.

mine has been doing ok but when I got it at 54k it would regularly chirp into 2nd even at light throttle (trans cable misadjusted).
since about 80k the trans wont chirp the tires anymore (partly the new posi) and now I have 120K and the 2-3 shift is pure slush. the 1-2 shifts hard but I cant chirp even if I redline it.
I had a flush (100%) at 67k and nothing since then.

how much longer do you think I have behind a ~270HP 305????
and I do NOT take it easy. (dont think I know how!)
