87 700r4 question
87 700r4 question
I have a '87 Camaro LG4 305 with the 700R4 trans, the car has 115k, It has the original transmission, I had the trans flushed and had a new filter put in about 2 years ago (3k miles) the fluid is clean but smells a little funny. I am taking the car on a 650 mile round trip to Camaro super fest in Ann Arbor next week and I'd like to know if anyone has had a 700 go well over 100k, and if I should take any pre-cautions to the trans before the trip. the car has not been abused so that should be a plus. what do you think? I have the original 160K tranny in my car, and I go to the track twice a month.
