worn clutch pushrod question

Hi, any help would be appreciated here. The eye in the puchrod that attaches to the clutch pedal is worn so that the clutch won't fully disengage, so shifts are really hard. My question is whether I can take the pushrod out to get a new one or put a bushing in it or is it attached to the master cylinder? I've tried to pull it out and it seems like it is attached but I wanted to check before I replace everything. Thanks for any help.

I think you've got bigger problems than just a worn master pushrod. you may have air in your system causing the clutch to not fully disengage. I don't know that you can change just the pushrod. You can go to the parts store and buy a new master cylinder for around $65 or so. If I were you, I'd see if bleeding the clutch hydraulics will cure the problem. If that cures it, may be able to live with the extra slop in the lingage. If you're like me and want to change it regardless, so be it.

email me if you have any questions, sometimes my explanations don't come across so well

OH, and I just saw your sig. I'm BUILDING moog parts as we speak!

Thanks for the reply, I'm gonna try a new pushrod and see if that works and then go from there.

Did you find just the pushrod? I'm just curious. I think you are going to have to do some disassembly of the master cylinder in some pretty tight confines to do it (if it's reasonably possible). I haven't messed with my clutch system in awhile (the car hasn't run in the last two years). I'd love to know how it all goes though.

Yeah I found it and after I decided that if I broke it I'd just buy a new one, I popped the old puchrod out with a pair of pliers. I went to the junkyard and got one off of a V6 camaro and it works well now. The hole where the rod attaches to the clutch pedal was slightly elongated causing too much play. Thanks for the help.
